Hi there,
I am trying to create a 2D 6DOF Ansys fluent simulation of a floating Wave Energy Converter, where the objects movement is impacted by waves. So far I am using a simple box geometry inside a flow domain just to get the setup correct. I have managed to generate waves in a multiphase simulation using the VOF method and the open channel flow. However, the box doesn't seem to be impacted by the motion of the waves and just sinks. Could this be a density or buoyancy issue? If so I am unsure how to fix this as the geometry is a flow domain wit a smaller box being removed from it in the centre, therefore I can only adjust the settings for the walls. I have attempted to use UDF's however I am not too skilled in this and whenever I apply a force in the positive y direction to try and account for buoyancy the waves still don't impact the box. Any help would be great. Thanks, Alex. |
