This is completely obvious in retrospect, but it had me scratching my head for an hour or so...


If you create a solution report with dpm data and assign it to a plot or file (default is both turned on with a sampling interval of 1), the sampling interval will drive the dpm updates. So, you may have your dpm update interval set to 10 or 100, but Fluent will perform a dpm iteration every time it needs to update that solution report plot and/or file.


If you are wondering why your model is performing a dpm iteration at every fluid iteration and your dpm update interval is set to something higher, check your report definitions.
