Hello,
I'm having trouble with setting up a simulation using Ansys Fluent. The problem I'm trying to model is a particle flow within a stream of water. Let's say the density of particles is 1000 kg/m^3 and the particle diameter is uniform with a diameter of 0.01 m. The volume of a particle should be equal to = d^3*pi/6, so it turns out to be equal to 5.236e-7 m^3, the mass should be as following 5.236e-4 kg. I'm using the surface injection type, with a total flow rate of 5.236e-4 and parcel release method of constant-number (Particle number in parcel = 1) which in theory should give me a injection of 10 particles(and parcels) with a mass of 5.236e-3 kg. Start time of injection is 0, end time is 1 sec. Time step of simulation is set to 1, DPM step length factor is also set to 1. The problem I'm running into is nothing is being injected when using the total flow rate of 10 (or 1) particles. But insted, when I set the mass flow rate of 100 particles, I get the injection of 71 particles(and parcels) in the stream if Scale Flow Rate To Face Area is ticked on, if not I get nothing injected. Does somebody know what the problem could be? Last edited by lolo7331; April 11, 2022 at 15:58. |
