Hello everybody,
I am trying to simulate the motion of sand in a pipe with absence of air in FLUENT. I create injection file in MPM model, I solved the continuous phase as first with periodic boundary condition (PBC) and set the air mass flow of zero. When I used DPM/ DEM model, the particle due to the PBC flow out from the outlet of pipe, and enter the domain again from the inlet, which is not the same in MPM model. In case of MPM the particle escaped out of the domain, and it was difficult to achieve periodic boundary condition. The other thing is, MPM solve collision equation but I am still not able to identify young model and poission ratio of the particle and wall. So I tried to activate hertzian DEM collision model, it is looking fine, But I am still confused, is hertzian model in this case is really available, it is possible to calculate the collision in both model (DEM and MPM)? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regard |
