Eulerian-Eulerian model droplet forces

I'm simulating a hydrocyclone separator and looking at efficiency for different oil droplet sizes.
I've run mesh sensitivity study and observed better agreement with fine mesh accross all droplet diameters (not surprising). But I'm still not getting good agreement with small diameter droplets with affordable mesh resolution. The pressure gradient and velocities check out ok so I'm wondering what other forces are not 'mesh independant' and if it is possible to look at the droplet drag? or look at the forces on droplets/oil phase? I know this can be done in DPM but is it also possible in the Eulerian model? Thanks |

You can look at drag and lift forces although DPM is normally used for cyclones.
You could also check the turbulence model, as k-eps does not fully capture the stresses in a the highly curved flow. |
