number tracked = 152387, escaped = 85, aborted = 0, trapped = 0, evaporated = 0, incomplete = 0, incomplete_parallel = 0.

I have a simulation where I'm injecting particles at the bottom of a vessel, Why am I getting such a high number of particles in my simulation. I don't want such high numbers due to issues with max particle loading and continuity.

I'm using surface injection with the inlet surface having 41 cell centers.

Setup: Flow rate = 0.0009768 (kg/s) , Velocity = 0.1 m/s

DPM iteration interval = 2, Unsteady tracking at fluid time step

Fluid time step = 0.001 sec , Max iterations = 30.

Thanks for the help.

I recommend you refer to documentation published by Ansys Fluent including the theory guide and user guide as they correlate the different models with the recommended operating range.
i have used dpm to simulate dilute flow with air at low ST you can refer to pepar
(An experimental and theoretical study on particles-in-air behavior characterization at different particles loading and turbulence modulation)
