Good morning,
I am trying to model a fluidized bed reactor where a heterogeneous reaction occurs between CO2 and iron oxides. Since I first want to see how it behaves with a non-UDF heterogeneous reaction, I went to the "phase interaction" section of the eulerian multiphase model and then inserted all the parameters required relating to the reaction. As a reaction rate function I selected the Arrhenius one and then I properly inserted the pre-exponential factor, activation energy and so on. Then, when I run the simulation I see that no products are formed and it seems that the reaction is actually not occurring. I don't think it is a matter of letting the simulaiton run, because I tried with arbitrary and very high factors of the Arrhenius law and the behavious remained identical. I do not understand where is my issue. Maybe I need to define a mass transfer mechanism with the heterogeneous reaction rate in order to see the formation of the products... Thank your for your attention |
