Overview
Hello all.
For my engineering thesis I have been tasked with the modelling of an agitation tank at a carbon in pulp gold processing plant.

About
The tank is approximately 130 m^3, has 4 baffles and uses a 38 rpm a310 down pumping turbine. The Pulp has an average particle size of 38 microns and solid% of 40 (rest water). The pulp appears to be slow settling. For example, a sample left on the bench overnight will only develop a thin film of clear liquid on its surface. I have collected rheological data and as a result have a viscosity vs shear rate curve between 0 and 100^s^-1. The pulp is shear thinning with a yield stress of approximately 10 Pa.

What I want/ Dont need to find out
For this, my goal would be to find the flow patterns and velocities. I Don't need to track the individual carbon particles or know the solids distribution as I believe it is safe to assume its pretty homogenous.

My Question
Can I model this as a single phase through fitting herschel buckley to my rheological curve and inputting that? Or will I need to model the solids and liquid separately using a multiphase model?

Thankyou
