Hello everyone,
i´m running an vof open channel simulation in steady state conditions. My geometry is a channel with a bridge in the flood stream. My setup works fine and the solution animation looks good. Now i am trying to get the water forces/pressures on the bridge surface by using the function calculator. The Problem is that i dont quite understand the meaning, or the difference of some functions. Is there any document in which the calculation basis for the functions are listed ?
for example i want to know what exactly the program calculates with the function : areaAve Pressure or areaAve water force
and what the mathematical differences between functions like ave or areaAve are (on ave i still define an area but i get diferent results then with areaAve ).

Area-Weighted Average that the area of the faces on the boundary where a field value is being reported is used as a weighting parameter, e.g., if pressure at outlet is reported and outlet is composed of 1000 mesh faces, then area of each face is multiplied by the pressure on each face and then their sum is divided by the total area.
