Hello everyone,

I have created a model to estimate the condensation mass flow rate. I used VOF, Energy and K epsilon Models. My model has a velocity inlet for the steam to enter and a pressure outlet. the solution converges. But, the issue is that the mass flow rate for the water liquid is zero! I increased the number of iterations. But, there is no change. I only get the mass flow rate for the mixture or the water vapor.

Please, find the picture of the obtained results.

Does anyone have any idea? or encountered a similar issue.

Thanks in advance.

which mass transfer model did you use? Can you define your setup more detailed?

I have used the evaporation-condensation mass transfer model specifically Lee model (I think its the default one).

by the way, it's a 2D CFD model, the initial conditions are at room temperature. the entering steam is at 380 K (above saturation temp). the temperature of the walls is maintained below the Tsat to allow the condensation.

the velocity inlet is about 0.11 m/s .
the backflow total temperature at the outlet is 300 K..

Thank you!
