hi all

I am phd student and I am trying to simulate the negatively buoyant
jets(exiting from desalination's submerged outfall) by Fluent(two
phase mixture model). The saline water runs into fresh water.
I would like to know how define the phases to Fluent.
Should I create a mixture composed of salt and water? or a mixture of
saline water and fresh water?
And how it is possible to define characteristic diameter of drops of
the second phase?

and do you have any suggestion to prove that this problem is two phase
flow and we expect more accurate results rather than one phase
model?because I need some reasons to say to my supervisor that such
cases are multiphase.
