Hello, everyone.
I would like to run a 2D simulation of soil drying with a heat source (see sketch). The initial soil moisture content is relatively low (~20% m/m) and the air is at atmospheric conditions. I would set a constant temperature and relative humidity to make things easier, that is, the evaporated water from the soil would not change the air conditions. I have the characteristics of the soil (e.g. conductivity, average grain size, etc.). I'm thinking of modeling the soil as a porous block with a particular amount of water. I was wondering if this is a reasonable problem and if any of you have done something similar and have tips that could make things easier. Thanks in advance for any help. |

There are following options.
a) Treat soil as solid. If no or negligible humidity is released from soil. b) If humidity is released, use DPM and replace the soil with a wall. c) Treat soil as a porous material. all the best. |
