Hey,
i am new to CFD and this forum and i hope you can help me with some troubles i have in building up my fluid simulation for a parameter study.
I managed to get the transient simulation runing in ANSYS FLuent 17.2 within ANSYS Workbench but have problems with the evaluation of the velocity profile at a specific location on the cylinder surface in CFD-Post.
Right now i use an isoclip vith Volume Fraction Phase 2 >= 0.5 and use an "length()@Location"-Expression to get the film thickness. This works perfectly fine. But when i want to look at the Velocity profile at this location the results from the vector plot on my iso clip and the results from bilding a chart with the velocity against the length of the iso clip are different. The Vector plot looks plaussible, the chart not. I think it might be because of the conservative setting for the velocity variable. Right now i can't change it to hybrid and i dont know why.
Although exporting the velocity at the iso clip an building the chart in Excel gives plaussible results. Since i want the results to be used for a load in a seperate mechanical simulation it would be good to have some sort of a polynominal function that gives me the velocity as a parameter of length along the iso clip.
Do you have any suggestions how i can get this working automatically when running my DoE with the least amount of effort? The Parameters of the Fluid Simulation that will be investigated are the viscosity and density of the ink and the diameter and rotational speed of the cylinder.
Thanks in advance for any tip.
Chris
