hello every body
i am simulating particle injection in a continuous phase which is air and i am using DPM model in ansys fluent 15. the continuous phase is in steady state and the discrete phase is unsteady. as you know DPM can be used when the volume fraction of discrete phase is less than 10%. my question is:
how can i calculate the volume fraction for dispersed phase.
i appreciate your concern

Hi,

You need to calculate the volume fraction as a percentage of your flow rate. If you have 100 kg/s flow rate and a 10% solid concentration then the sand flow rate would be 10 kg/s.
