Hello CFD-Forum,
in the picture below you see a normal Mass Flow Inlet editpage and the Mass Flow Inlet editpage when i aktivate Volume of Fluid. Can somebody please tell me, why the Mass Flow Rate is not there anymore after i aktivate VOF? sincerely sebebo |

Hi Sebastian,
can you, please, specify a little bit more, what kind of simulation do you want to perform? Is an Open Channel Flow or Open Channel Flow Wave? What phase do you select under Phase tab? |

Hi Javi,
i want to simulate a box with one Inlet, one outlet and one opensurface (second outlet). At the beginning of the Simulation a part of the top section is filled with air and the rest is filled with water. Throught the inlet shoud go x kg/s water. And i want that the water level at the end of the simulation is in relation to x. It is only an Open Channel Flow because i don't want waves in it (maby that's wrong?). In the Phasetab for the Inlet i chose mixturre, because when i select Phase1 or Pase2, the selected Phase is valied for all Boundary Conditions. I know that when i select Phase 1 or 2 i can chose a vale for Mass flow Rate. But I don't know how i can select Phase 1 for the Inlet and mixture for the Opensurface. I hope you can help me now. sincerely Sebastian |

Hi Sebastian,
The mass flow rate input tab is not there anymore after you tick over the Open Channel option in Multiphase tab. Then, what you have to do under Phase tab (Boundary Condition panel) is specify the mass flow rate you desire for each phase. I am not entirely sure if this is what you want. |

Hi Javi,
i wrote that i found that option, but if i do that then the phase "water" is selected for all the boundary conditions. And that is not what i want, if you could tell me how i could select water for the inlet and mixture for the interior, that would help me imensly. |
