Hi everyone!

I'm new at setting multiphase cases. I'm trying to simulate a pipe with a water-vapor mixture on the inside and any gas (air, co2) on the outside.

A similar case would be a double pipe heat exchanger.

It's important to say that there's no mass exchange, they are separated domains (zones).

The problem is that when I define the multiphase water-vapor mixture, I'm allowed only to use that mixture for all the fluids in the cell zone settings, excluding my precious cover gas.

Thank you in advance!

Split the domain in 2 zones in your meshing editor, using a named selection to specify each zone. Then, you can set conditions separately for each zone under 'cell zone conditions' in FLUENT

Best,
Cees

Thank you CeesH, but splitting the model into 2 or more zones won't help. As we did a little research, came up with this:

http://www.sciencedirect.com/science...17931012008174

The author states that "As stated in the FLUENT user’s guide, in modelling heat transfer in two separated fluid regions involving multispecies, only a single mixture material for the entire domain can be used." [3. Solution procedures - pg. 713]
