How to add sponge layer to secondary development of FLOW-3D

How to redevelop and modify the program of FLOW-3D by adding sponge layer at the beginning boundary？How to compile and modify programs with FORTRAN? Can anyone write this code? For advice!

The mass source creates waves in the middle, and then the secondary development sets up sponge layers on both sides.
