Hey dear friends,
I am simulating a simple cubic object motion under the earthquake base excitation with different values of restitution and friction coefficients. The rotation and sliding of the object from FLOW 3D analysis coincides well enough with finite element analysis in friction coefficient between zero and one but by increasing of the friction coefficient from one the results of numerical analysis went far from finite element analysis. In FLOW 3D (v 11.2 updated from v10) user manual the range is mentioned just as positive value and it is using the coulomb friction law. So the question, is GMO model valid for motion of particles with friction coefficient larger than one? Thank you very much for your time🙏🏻 |
