Hi all!
My name is Germán and I´m doing the final project of my engineering studies. I´ve been using with flow 3d cast (v4.1) for some months and now trying to simulate a real case. In summary it´s gravity filling, grey iron, side-bottom sprue. The thing is that a polystyrene is used to model a pattern of the part, runner channels and gates, but not the cope, sprue and risers. Of course I´ve seen the v4.1 lost foam tutorial, but in that tutorial, everything inside the mold is supposed to be polystyrene and in my case risers, spure and cope should be empty. I wish somebody could help me with the geometry definition. I´ve tried many different things. Lastly, created a casting part stl to define the whole cavity of the mold, and placed an stl of the PES model into it. (Mold from remaining space). Simulation runs but reaches 100% inmediately and finishes Searched for any related threads in the forum but couldn´t find anything related. Thanks in advance! |
