Hi,
As a beginner in numerical modelling,i have some problem with my model.First of all, i am modelling an experiment area and our discharge will be very low. I put a bathymetry in model. The mesh boundaries are xmin: volume flow rate xmax: outflow (also tried continuative and pressure(with elevation))
1. Loosing volume:
With this boundary condition i am loosing volume of water regularly. With a pressure boundary condition volume became stable but this time it reflect the water..
2. I have 100000 grid, for 550 sec. simulation it takes 3 hours is it normal? Also is 550 sec simulation too short for my simulation.
3. Lastly, i have 3 dimensional drawing (3dm rhyno file) and i convert it to stl format but the problem is this file became 2.6 gb so i can not use it for my purpose.
Thanks for your help

1. In the latest version of FLOW-3D (11.1 onwards) there is a wave absorbing component feature that will not reflect waves.
2. Simulation time is often dependent on the number of cores you have. Depends how many of those you are using.
3. Why cant you use the converted file?

Thanks a lot, actually i have lost my hope about this topic. I solved the sol problem, i draw in Autocad from beginning. For the other options i will try to get new version of flow 3d. The number of cores are 2 (4 with imaginary) i7 3.8 ghz with boosting..

Thanks a lot

hello, I have the same problem of losing volume when I simulate the laser welding process. Did you solve this problem?
