Theoretical question on dimensionless velocity profiles

Hi, student here.
I'm interested in comparing FLOW 3D-obtained velocity profile to the theoretical "law of the wall" profile, but my results don't fit. It's a 0.01 m/m slope channel with ~0.1m water depth. The velocity profile is given on this table: distance from bed (m) velocity (m/s) 0,00 0,00 0,01 1,08 0,02 1,27 0,03 1,37 0,04 1,45 0,05 1,50 0,06 1,52 0,07 1,52 0,08 1,52 0,09 1,52 0,10 1,52 It does look like a turbulent profile, but using depth-slope product to calculate shear velocity and then "non-dimensionalizing" the profile doesn't work. What may I be doing wrong here? Or better - does FLOW 3D have any customization to output u* or u+? Thanks |
