Question Time-dependent rate of particle

I want the particles get into the casting mold more and more .So i want to set the time-dependent rate of particle.Known that the RATET(t,n) refers to time-dependent rate of particle creation at source n at time TMS(t).But i don't konw
ture meaning of RATET(t,n) and don't know how to operate it.could you give me an example.thank you in advance.
