hi there
What is the difference and application of these options? 1) one fluid, free surface 2) Unsplit Lagrangian 3) Split Lagrangian thanks in advanced |

These options are just different ways of moving the free surface. (1) simply fluxes fluid into the neighbor cells while (2) and (3) try to move the surface directly.

The default methods ("automatic") usually work best for most problems. The Lagrangian methods are useful if, for some reason, the default methods are not performing well (e.g., you see unacceptable convective volume error attributable to the VOF advection method).
