Hello,
Does somebody know how to create normalized vectors in FlowEFD? I already tried to set the min and max above the maximum velocity but that doesn't work. Has somebody got another idea? Thanks |

Hi Patrick,
by normalized you mean all have the same length? Because normalized usually means that they have the value 0 to 1 with 0 vor the smallest value and 1 for the highest and then multiplied by the length you specify and this is the standard way it is done in FloEFD. Boris |

Yes I mean that they all have the same length. I'm only interested in the direction of the flow and not the strength of it.

Hi Patrick,
you have to define the min and maximum velocity of the vectors to the same value. With that the smallest one has the same size of the largest one. The standard normalization is done by the global min and max value and if you define the local one it says that the minimum lenght of the vectors has the length of the velocity you defined for the minimum velocity. Ok thnx but I already tried that but then some of the vectors are still small compared to the others, see attachment. It is only a small area but sometimes it is important

Oh, you have an old version. I cannot recreate that anymore, but I know it works. Try to use the original maximum and just 1 m/s below the original. But this should not be any different.
You must be using version 9.x or older and version 11 is the newest. I can only show it in the new version but the user interface changed a bit the view settings and the single plot types merged to one plot setting. Boris |
