Can floefd do an external analysis with two fluid subdomains as a cavity?

I am modelling a pump wherein I'm trying to cool the electronics inside a chamber or cavity of air. One side is cooling via water and the other side is cooling via air with natural convection where the my electronics cover is a heatsink.

So basically my analysis should be external with radiation, conduction, rotation (for pump impeller) and gravity for air cavity inside the electronics chamber.

Thanks a lot!

In brief, yes, that should be do-able. Each sub-domain/cavity can have it's own flow conditions as well as be a different specie from that of the main fluid participating in the external flow study. "Lids" will be required for the fluid sub-domains with water.

Thanks! I ran the simulation with no "lids" but just a close tube while place a surface on both inflow and outlfow so that I dont have leakage.

I got this error message;

"The inlet boundary condition may conflict with the supersonic flow regions at the inlet BC."

What seems to be the problem? I have defined my flow rate as LPM and outlet as Static pressure.

To sum up, I think that should be possible. In an external flow research, each sub-domain or cavity can have its own unique set of flow parameters and can be a different kind of fluid from the primary fluid. For the fluid subdomains containing water, "Lids" are necessary.

Did you solve this meanwhile? I think supersonic flow is not reasonable here. Did you try with a reduced inlet flow rate? Maybe, could you share a screenshot or a sketch of your model setup?
