Dear All,
I am quite new on CFD subjects. I want to run both steady and unsteady turbocharger compressor simulation in FloEFD. I have inlet pressure (static and total) values, mass flow rate and pressure ratio values. And I want to calculate compressor pressure ratio and compare with real value. How can I define boundary conditions for steady and unsteady situations? Will pressure inlet and mass flow outlet b.c.'s work? Thanks in advance. Mert |

Hi Mert,
Yes, you can do both steady state and transient simulations with FloEFD. For a real transient simulation in which you can see the fluctuations on the outlet you can use the sliding mesh simulation. As for the boundary conditions, it depends on what you have as a boundary condition. If it is a transient fluctuation as an input then you can specify that to see the behavior of the turbocharger but if you only want to see how the rotation in transient might cause fluctuations in the pressure etc. then you can keep the BCs as a constant value. The ideal setup in FloEFD is the mass or volume flow rate at the inlet and pressure at the outlet. I hope this helped, Boris |

Hello Shahzad,
Not sure what you are asking for. Judging from your profile, you use CFX when looking at the other posts. So you are in the wrong part of the forum if you expect any help with your work in CFX. Regards, Boris |
