Hi all,
I am a new user of Numeca and have finished going through the tutorials. I want to try to run a simulation on my own geometry, creating a mesh in Hexpress from a parasolid file posed no problems. However when I open Fine turbo and try to link a grid fill (.igg) I get an error with a pop up box saying: "Mesh file is incorrect" and the mesh file does not load.. Has anybody ever encountered this issue or know of how to sort it out? Thanks in advance! |

Dear cheche;
"Fine Turbo" only accepts structured multi block meshes generated in "IGG" or "Autogrid" programs. if you use Hexpress, which is an unstructured mesh, Fine Turbo will naturally reject it. you should use "Fine Hexa" instead to solve "Hexpress" generated meshes. regards |

Thank you for this information I will look into the matter.
On an other point: I am trying to run a simulation in fine turbo on a simple fan I have modeled. When I launch the computation the solver crashes before anything has time to begin and I get the following error in the log: !createBcBranch : THIS BC COULD NOT BE COARSENED IN BLOCK 5 ! 1 1 1 73 40 1 The conditions in my model are based on the conditions defined in tutorial 1 which is very similar to my case. Would any body have any information on this matter? Thanks in advance! |

Dear Cheche;
It seems there is a problem with your mesh. multi-grid can not be executed for the current mesh. you can check the followings: - check if there is negative cells in your domain. - inactive multi-grid in "FINE/TURBO" and see if the program runs. does it help? regards |

Thanks for the advice, I got fed up and restarted my mesh from zero and it seems to be working now. I am having some trouble with boundary conditions but I hope I will work my way through.
Thanks a lot for your help! |
