I'd like to import lofted surfaces and so I created a .dat file like this: (this is an example for 2 simple polylines) (in the following text / means go to the line) s2/ 3 0 0 6 6 0/ 2/ 5/ 0 1 10/ 0 2 11.1/ 0 3 12.5/ 0 4 13.3/ 0 5 14.6/ 5/ 1 1 10.2/ 1 2 11.3/ 1 3 12.7/ 1 4 13.2/ 1 5 14.5/

this is the same format as described in the IGG manual page 13-4

But hte problem is that when I do that, it seems that the surface exists but when I try to select it by drawing a square around it with the mouse, I got a error message "System error. Emergency save mesh ?"

By pressing ctrl-s and then a (all) I got no error message but I also cannot select the surface .

Does someone kows the right way to import lofted surfaces ? Thanks

i have had the same question and i found the file name and type is very import for IGG. you may try again.

Now that I solved my problem, I think that I should tell the whole world what was the problem and what is the solution. The format gave in my IGG manual was wrong

it is not :

but the following is good :

s2/ 3 0 3 6 6 0/ 2/1 5/ 0 1 10/ 0 2 11.1/ 0 3 12.5/ 0 4 13.3/ 0 5 14.6/2 5/ 1 1 10.2/ 1 2 11.3/ 1 3 12.7/ 1 4 13.2/ 1 5 14.5/

(the slashes means a return to the line)

the difference is : 3 0 0 6 6 0 become now 3 0 3 6 6 0 Also, the number of the curve and the number of points that compose it must be written before the points data. Not only the number of points !!! 1 5 stands for curve n° 1 has 5 points 2 5 stands for curve n° 2 has 5 points

hourrah... Problem solved !!

But also yet the name of the file must be a one-word-name : names like "surface of my car.dat" are not allowed. One should write "surfaceofmycar.dat" or "surface_of_my_car.dat"
