Hi all
I have a mesh that was converted from OpenFOAM to a .msh file. The mesh is a flat plate with 8000 cells. I have been trying to link the mesh as a TGrid file in fine open61 but the mesh information area shows that there are zero vertices in my mesh. I tried with a different mesh but get the same thing. Has anyone tried to link a TGrid mesh in fine open and run a simulation successfully? Thanks |

Dear Anne,
may I ask how you transformed the openFOAM mesh to .msh format? Kind regards, Holger |

Dear Anne,
I tested it on the openFOAM motorbike tutorial (incompressible/simplefoam) and can confirm this behavior. I converted the openFOAM mesh with FoamMeshToFluent and linked this .msh file in FINE/Open. After this several HEXPRESS specific mesh files are generated (.bcs, ,.dom, .fnmb, .igg ). Unfortunately the .dom or .igg file cannot be opened in HEXPRESS for further inspection or manipulation. When starting a computation in FINE/Open the solver crashes before the first iteration. A *.fnmbh file wasn't found. From another project I copied such a *.fnmbh file into the mesh folder, which was empty in my opinion (except a header). That didn't help much. It still crashes. I think you chose the conversion to .msh format because it seemed to be compatible with FINE/Open? From my experience it isn't possible to run openFOAM meshes in FINE/Open. |
