hello , i want to optimize the blade of my centrifugal pump . I used cfturbo software to make the geometry. but when i import the file to nuemeca autogrid to make 3d mesh , i face a error that says "inlet and outlet definition" has problem . i realy dont know what to do, may anybody help me?

Hi;
How do you introduce your model to numeca? blade itself or a fluid box? |

i uploaded the picture of my error . i think that it is because of the distance between the trailing edge and outlet but i am not sure how to fix it . i also added my geomturbo file. thx

Hi;
Regarding your case two points come to my mind: - Always try to use "meter" unit instead of "millimeters". This makes difficulties in setting boundary layer meshes as well as also solver settings. Therefore you had better change the digits from mm to m. - Your trailing edge geometry is left disclosed so that no clear trailing line can be distinguished. It seems that AutoGrid5 can not treat the mesh distribution around trailing edge. Therefore you need to close it either by simply defining a sharp blunt TE or a rounded one. Regards |

thank you hamidzoka for your help . but now i have a problem in negative volume . when i want to do screening with Design3d , i face an error that says : negative volume has been found in autogrid . i take a mesh report of my autogrid mesh and it says that in double precision there is no negative volume but in single precision there are negative volumes . i dont know how to fix it? thx

Hi;
First you need to understand that your problem comes from either geometry or mesh settings. If changing mesh settings can not help improving mesh quality, you should make some modifications or corections on the geometry and try to mesh that. If you are to optimize, make sure that mesh qualities are high and your mesh template is flexible enough to give good meshes as the geometry varies. Regards |
