IGG - modifying curves

Hi all,
In IGG I'd like to change one curve so that it coincides with another curve. The two curves were almost identical except for a few control points. This is to avoid non-matching patches when importing the mesh to Fine/Turbo. I've tried modifying the control points and move them 1-to-1 on the other curve, but this would mess up my existing grid points. Is there any easier way to do this in IGG? Thanks! evan |

First, it depends on the type of curve. Splines can't be completely coincident if their control points are not all the same, only polylines can. Please keep in mind that the boundary condition of the patch will be FNMB if the patch boundaries are not matching.

Dear Evan,
Maybe a picture of the problem could be helpful. I guess it is the multistage mesh that you mentioned in your other post about the BC indices? Is it a 2D cascade grid? If it is not a 2D mesh, be careful not to focus only on the projection on curves but to manage also correctly face projections and the 3D grid generation. In particular the face projection is also important for a correct boundary condition treatment. But again, without some illustration of the problem, it may be difficult to guide you in the good direction. Best regards, Colinda. |
