Hi everybody!
I'm quite new to Converge. I'm trying to create an inlaid region under a poppet valve needle. This region is basically created as the 360° rotation of a rectangle along an external axis. Here you can see a section of what I mean (just a section, but in my case the rotation is complete): Cattura.PNG Once I run the simulation, I immediately get this error: " FATAL_ERROR: [3303] Neighbors on FLOW_THROUGH boundaries 21 and 22 have mismatched areas 4.450747e-19 and 3.846866e-19. Please contact Convergent Science Support. " Moreover, I think boundaries 21 and 22 do not exist in my case. The maximum ID for the boundaries is 11. Any suggestion about how handling this error? Thanks! |

Hi pulplus,
Generally when we create a inlaid mesh it creates a new flow thorough interface. Either sides of the flow through interface has 2 new boundary IDs, which you can not see in GUI interface. You can open the boundary.in to search for the BID 21 & 22 to check with flow through interface the solver is referring to. And regrading this specific case, we cant comment much without seeing the geometry, can you share the input files to support team so we can take a closer look into the geometry. Most cases the error might be due to poor inlaid mesh created or incorrect triangle normal direction based on the region definition on either sides of the flow through interface. |
