Hi all,
I am doing some ultra hi-pressure(1000bar) gasoline Direct-injection simulation on Converge. In the spray modeling, the pre-set Parcel distribution from Converge example is 'Distribute parcels evenly throughout cone'. It notices that there is another available option out there, 'Cluster parcels near cone center'. For the hi-pressure injection (gasoline), which setting will be a better choice? In additional, has anyone notice the spray plume interfere during 2nd injection? especially the injection closed to TDC (-60 CA to -30 CA). It seems that the spray plume interfere getting more obvious with narrow sprays design (all the sprays are closed to each other). Thank you! |

Hello, the choice regarding parcel distribution is to be made on some experimental imaging. Although it is unlikely this choice would affect the spray plume interference, this is more sensitive to the choice of turbulence model and the mesh resolution near the sprays. You can use a fine resolution or inlaid mesh on the Nozzles. Hope this helps! If you need more support, please reach out to us at support@convergecfd.com
