Hello community users
I'm doing analysis with a two-stroke engine right now. I don't burn, I try to analyze only the flow However, when I ran the analysis, the following error occurred. I've tried several methods, I've looked in several places, but I can't find a solution. So I would be very grateful if you guys help. My pc has 32gb of ram. AMR is in 2 scales. It's an engine flat type. It's a two-cylinder engine. I'll tell you the error message that is printed here. =============================================== = BAD TERMINATION OF ONE OF YOUR APPLICATION PROCESSES = RANK 0 PID 43516 RUNNING AT EH-PC = EXIT STATUS: -1 (ffffffff) =============================================== =============================================== = BAD TERMINATION OF ONE OF YOUR APPLICATION PROCESSES = RANK 2 PID 41280 RUNNING AT EH-PC = EXIT STATUS: -1 (ffffffff) =============================================== =============================================== = BAD TERMINATION OF ONE OF YOUR APPLICATION PROCESSES = RANK 3 PID 44388 RUNNING AT EH-PC = EXIT STATUS: -1 (ffffffff) =============================================== =============================================== = BAD TERMINATION OF ONE OF YOUR APPLICATION PROCESSES = RANK 4 PID 26928 RUNNING AT EH-PC = EXIT STATUS: -1 (ffffffff) =============================================== =============================================== = BAD TERMINATION OF ONE OF YOUR APPLICATION PROCESSES = RANK 5 PID 35924 RUNNING AT EH-PC = EXIT STATUS: -1 (ffffffff) =============================================== This message is being printed. About 3 to 5 seconds after running the analysis, the same error is coming out. When I analyzed it, I could see that the CPU was activated, but the RAM doesn't seem to be activated. I've tried other example interpretations and it works I would really appreciate any help in resolving the error. thanks |

Hi, i am not sure why this error is coming, but here is what you can try: 1) Maybe shorten the name of the folder in which you are running the case 2) Shorten the path to maybe put the file on the desktop and try to run because sometimes this can occur due to the very long path provided. 3) Try restarting the converge (i am sure you would have tried this). Other than that I have no idea why it's not working. I would say it is not the error related to your case setup, its related to your PC....

Thank you so much for answering. Now I've been having this problem since I upgraded from version 2.4 to version 3.0. I'm trying to interpret it by creating a test folder on the desktop. As you said, the path is very concise. I don't think it's a hardware problem for my PC. Because other example files or files that I interpreted in the past run well. I really don't know. I corrected it because I thought it was caused by multiple errors in the case setup, but it was the same. Thank you. |

Hello,
Can you provide more information on the case? Namely, does Studio give you any errors when run a final validation? Also, which MPI version are you using? It would be useful to share your converge.log file to look at the underlying cause of the crash, since the error message you posted does not contain any such information. Looking forward to your response, Best regards, Aimilios Sofianopoulos, Ph.D. Senior Research Engineer - Applications Convergent Science Inc. 608-230-1565 (Office) 631-488-5394 (Mobile) |

I'll answer your question first. - Studio doesn't give any errors. There are no errors in Final Validation and Diagnosis. - I'm using intelmpi now. - I'm really sorry, but that's all I've told you. I get an error, but I don't know where and how the error occurs. I'm bored too - I'll share the converge.log file.(Please refer to the attached image below.) The analysis I want to do is a port flow analysis of a two-stroke two-cylinder engine. That's why a lot of motion is applied to the boundary. In particular, I am using an arbitrary to simulate the movement of parts and pistons in the crankcase. Here, the motion profile is created and used by Octave. (It does not Combustion.) The turbulence model is the default, the base grid is 4mm, and the AMR is applied in 2 scales. The maximum number of cells is set to 5,000,000. I'll let you know what the error is. The error occurs when running the analysis in Power Shell. When I type in the run command and hit enter, I get the above error. At that time, if you monitor the CPU and RAM, the load on the RAM hardly comes, and only the CPU load takes a very short time and then an error occurs. If you proceed with the analysis with the example provided by converge, it will work well, and you can proceed with the analysis you made in the past. So it doesn't look like there's a hardware problem. Is there something wrong with the case setup? (I upgraded from v2.4 to v3.0 this time. I guess there was an error somewhere during this process? I didn't delete v2.4.) If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. I really want to solve this problem quickly and accurately. Thank you so much for replying. Thanks. |

I used to get similar error. I was using V3.0.18 (latest at that time). I then reinstalled a previous version, that is v3.0.17 and I stopped getting this error. |

Hello,
The error message you posted does not provide us with useful information on what is the reason for the crash you are seeing. Can you please contact your designated support team for your region and share your case setup with them? If you do not wish to do this, it is quite likely that the seals in the 2-stroke case are not set up appropriately so I would recommend re-making them. Please let us know if we can further help. Thank you, Aimilios Sofianopoulos, Ph.D. Senior Research Engineer - Applications Convergent Science Inc. |

I've reviewed the Seal as you replied, but when I checked it doesn't seem to be a problem. I've looked through this and the error hasn't been resolved, so I sent an inquiry to our local support team. thank you so much for replying I'll let our local support team get an answer and share what the problem is once it's resolved. thanks. |

Yes. I think I've solved the problem (but it did cause other problems). But it was a while ago, so I can't remember. But I'll explain what I know! Since I don't know exactly about your case, I may not be able to give you an accurate answer. I hope you take this into consideration. I realigned the triangle of the liner and piston skirt. And once again review the parts to which the seal is applied, and if there are any parts with motion, check the motion again. But I think the alignment of the triangle of the boundary where the seal is applied is very important. If you are also analyzing a two-stroke engine or have any questions, please contact me again! It's okay if you contact me by e-mail. I'm sorry my English is not good... I hope you solve the problem too Good luck |
