Hi everybody,
I am simulating an airblast nozzle on CONVERGE, thanks to the VOF-spray one-way coupling method.
I have already run the vof simulation but the vof_spray.out file is empty, even if the interval time for writing this file is already exceeded.
Has anyone faced this issue before?

best regards,

Hi Stefania,

It is odd that the vof_spray.out file is empty. The most obvious thing to check would be with the vof_spray.in file that you set up. You could look at the Spray G example case to see how to set up the case.

Hi Praveen
Sorry to bother.I have run the spray G example and got the spray.out file. Also, I changed the name to"vof_spray.dat" when i carried a Lagrangian simulation using the case setup of example"sprayG_Lagrangian_LES".
However, the spray.out file shows that "tot_parcels" are zero all the time.Could you give me some advice about it? Thank you.
Best regards.

Hi HengLiu,

Are you trying to run a Spray VOF one-way coupling case or just a normal Lagrangian case?

If you want to run a one-way coupling case, then you first need to run the internal nozzle flow simulation using VOF. You will also need to activate the vof_spray.out output. The vof_spray.out generated form the VOF simulation can then be used in a one-way coupling case to initiate Lagrangian parcels.

If you want to use the example case to replicate the above process, then run the "ECN Spray G VOF transient RANS" case first. This will generate a vof_spray.out file, rename this file to "vof_spray.dat" and use it to run the "ECN Spray G one-way coupling transient RANS" example case.

I hope this explains the procedure.
