Hi,
I have an assembly drawing in Catia, as per standard procedure, I converted the assembly into a single part drawing and exported as STL. I imported this STL in Converge, the import was successful, however the following error was flashed in message log ERROR: Error parsing STL input line OLID What does this error mean and its resolution. --------------------------------- Here is the full message log: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OpenGL: using old rendering methods (deprecated GL calls). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Compression tolerance to be calculated per boundary. Are you getting this error in Converge Studio or when you run the Converge solver?

An ASCII STL file must begin with the line
solid name The string name is optional. If name is omitted then there must be a space after solid. Can you check to make sure your STL file has this line? From the error message it looks like the s in solid is missing in the file.

It has the said "solid name" initialisation, following are a few lines from the beginning of the file for your kind perusal..
solid CATIA STL facet normal -1.557276e-001 2.089441e-002 -9.875790e-001 outer loop vertex 5.240067e-001 7.499817e+001 -2.375110e+002 vertex 2.8..............continues............. |

I am not sure what the issue could be. The error points to the first line of the file but everything looks okay. What version of Studio are you using? You can reach out to us at support@convergecfd.com (US); supportEU@convergecfd.com (EU) or support.in@convergecfd.com (India). We would be happy to take a look at your file and resolve the issue Thank you
