Hello,

I'm trying to inject some mass of water at a constant velocity in a pre-defined time. When using the injector modelling I cannot get the right velocity. I thought in map some parcels into de domain and specify its velocity, but then I would inject the entire mass in one time step (what is not what I want to do).

Is there any way to pick a mass, a injection duration and specify its velocity?

Thank you,
Filipi

Thanks for asking about this. The injection velocity is a function of injection duration, injection mass, injection nozzle diameter, injection density (also a function of injection temperature and injected species composition), and nozzle discharge coefficient.

Once you determine the nozzle diameter, the injection composition and temperature, and the injection duration, you can set the amount of injected mass so that your injection velocity comes out to your desired value. You can use the 'spray modeling' -> 'injectors' -> 'tools' -> 'spray rate preview' to help determine the injected mass if, instead of the mass flow rate, your known variable is the injection pressure.

Please let us know any time if you have any more questions on these cases.

Best regards,
David
