Hi forum,

When i updated my converge version from 2.4 to 3.0, the solver started to show me the following warning: Failed to initialize region id for some cells, forced initialization may cause a region id leak. This warning affected the smoothness of my plots, especially the volume/CA plot. I tried to disable the shared_memory_flag and to define a higher seal_tol value for my rotating seal geometry, it didn't worked...
Would appreciate your help.
Thanks!

Hello and thank you for your message. For a geometry using sealing to separate regions, there may not be a single set of boundaries you can use to enclose each region. To reduce the region ID leakage as much as possible, make sure to avoid the dependent region ID on boundaries wherever possible. You can also make use of the new sealing feature in 3.0 to seal to boundary sets, in case that helps to break down your seal-to boundary into separate boundaries for region identification. If those do not work, we can use a user defined function for region identification. Feel free to let us know if you have any other questions, or forward your case to support@convergecfd.com.

Best regards,
David
