Hello everyone!
I would like to preface this with that me and my group have very limited knowledge of converge. We have guides online and our professor helping us with our fluid simulation. We have a nozzle we are trying to simulate liquid going through and hitting a deflector plate and then spraying into the open atmosphere. We are trying to get some form of velocity and pressure values so we can design a system around the nozzle. We keep getting the same error each time we run the simulation. Our professor said the error is most likely due to a meshing problem, whether it is too big of a mesh or too big of a time step that the simulation crashes. We would like to get values that come out of the nozzle and off the plate so we can design our system around those values since testing new designs isn't very feasible. Maybe eventually get to a point in the simulation where we can see the spray off the nozzle into the atmosphere. I can try to answer any questions to the best of my ability. I have attached the simulation settings and setup we are using along with the nozzle in a .stl file and the error we keep getting is "0366 ERROR: Something is wrong in function get_temp_from_table_massfrac: upper_energy_value must be greater than lower_energy_value! upper_energy_value is -nan(ind), and lower_energy_value is -nan(ind)." Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! We are using converge studio 2.4 Last edited by tgeiss; October 31, 2019 at 13:26. Reason: Converge version |

Trent,
It seems that there is some issue with the setup that causes the energy equation to blow up. Based on the information provided it will be hard to debug it, but I suspect that it might be due to lack of refinement in critical area as your professor suggested. In order to help you, knowing that you are new to CONVERGE, it is best if you send at support@convergecfd.com your inputs files as well as the logfile. |
