How can I get heat release rate in Converge?(not based on engine condition)

Hi,
Could anyone tell me how to get heat release rate in Converge, please? I main the heat release rate in combustion field, whose unit is W/M2. In Converge Manual the heat release rate mains the heat releasing in unit crank angle or unit time, only in engine simulation. I want to get the heat release rate in 2-D combustion simulation, which means the heat releasing in unit time and unit area. I did not find this in post setting. Thank you so much! |

Hi,
I suspect you're referring to heat flux from the combustion chamber to its boundaries (e.g. piston, liner, head, etc.), isn't it? If that's what you're looking for you can enable the "Generate Wall boundary averaged output" flag in the Output files window, to obtain area averaged heat flux on boundaries at each time-step. In addition to that you can enable the "Boundary heat flux" flag in the Post variable selection window, Boundary/Film tab, so that you can see the distribution of heat flux on each boundary in 3D post-processing The heat release rate (HR_Rate) instead is the chemical energy release rate inside the reacting fluid, during the combustion. Its units are J/deg or J/s and its found in thermo.out Hope that helps |
