Hi everyone,

I started to use converge studio some weeks ago. I'm studying the example case of the supersonic channel and i found a problem with the MUSCL solver. I setted the solver parameters in MUSCL reconstructured central difference and step as a flux limiters (STEP limiter tolerance setted in 1e-5).

The problem is the solution of the shock in the channel doesn't look monotone. I plotted the Mach number contour on tecplot and the shock zone looks indented and not clear as it should be. Then i plotted the pressure values on the lower wall of the channel on Matlab and the graphic is characterized by anomaouls fluctuations.

I setted another case with the flux blending (default) scheme and first order upwind and the solution of the mach number and the pressure is right so i thounght i'm not setting the MUSCL scheme in the right way. Can anyone help me to know better about the setting of this scheme on Converge Studio?
Thanks

Hi,

Can you send your problem and setup to support@convergecfd.com? So some of our support engineer will take a look at your setup. Thanks.

Hi,

Could you use MUSCL for both momentum and global? The current implementation of MUSCL requires that mom and global be consistent on numerical schemes.

Thanks,
