I am trying to run an engine simulation(45 degree slice) with a non-reacting spray from a nozzle. When I omit the mech.dat file the corresponding error occurs:
"JOB ABORT invoked by rank 0: 2375 ERROR: species O2 specified in initialize.in not found in mech.dat or species.in" And if I included O2 and N2, which are the components of my ambient region, to the species.in this error occurs: "JOB ABORT invoked by rank 0: 1871 ERROR: error in inputs.in, you have specified both gas and liquid species and the vof_flag is 0. If this is not a vof simulation please remove the unnecessary species from mech.dat and species.in" Should I be including a mechanism file even though I have a non-reacting case? Is it possible to have ambient conditions be non-reacting? |

you may want to check what phase you specify in species.in, I guess the solver thought you have both liquid and gas species
or you can easily include a dummy mech.dat, as long as you turn off combustion, it won't affect your simulation, actually you only need to include the two species and 0 reactions in mech.dat |
