Hi,
I am trying to model a two stroke engine and I have to import the whole engine assembly including cylinder, crank case, piston, rod, crank etc. Does any one have a well explained document or video to how to do it step by step ? I am also not sure after importing how converge would understand the piston motion and such. Basically I am trying to figure out everything about creating a model right before case setup. Thanks |

Converge requires a water tight geometry. Some basics of geometry import, cleanup and piston motion requirement are explained on the youtube channel using an older version of per-processor, CONVERGE studio (2.2).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rx7y...sxaNCJwrthkDm6 We recommend you to attend the introductory training to get started. The schedule of the training can be found at https://convergecfd.com/events/us or https://convergecfd.com/events/eu Thanks, |

Thank you so much. I watched this videos and attended to recent one day converge training but still there is not much about how import combination of fluid structure stl file. Do we simply import the assembly and treat solid as boundary? what stl file should I import to the converge? Multiple stl file or a single stl file from whole assembly?

Day 1 - (hands on) surface preparation Day 2 and 3 - IC engine modeling Unless you are doing a CHT problem, import only the fluid surfaces. You may import single or multiple files (.stl) in to CONVERGE Stuido which may then be cleaned and combined. |
