Hello,
I meet a question,when I calculate cylinder flow.TKE increase to 3500 before IVO suddenly.At the same time,Tumble Rate of Y change constantly.
Thank you.

What kind of engine do you have there?
Did you have a look at regions_flow.out for flowrates and/or in 3D postprocessing to see what is happening?

Hello,

Yes, you'll want to do some 3-D post-processing to determine what flow features are responsible for the large production of TKE.

Best regards,

Tristan

Fristly,Thank you very much.
But I don't konw what happened in my model. If is it related to the error inital boundary?Everything is ok,unless the increasing TKE at the start of the IVO.

Oh,my friends
Thank you for replying my question.
I just simulated the cylinder flow of an TDC gasoline engine.
By watching at the 3D postprocessing,At the beginning of the IVO,The Velocity is bigger than others.
But I don't know that if it is relaxed to the inital boundary.

Hello,

What are the pressures in the intake region and the cylinder region just before IVO?

Best regards,

Tristan

Thank you for replying to my question, the inital boundary is setted as the below:
The cylinder temperature is 1081,and pressure is 345245.
The intake_port temperature is 316,and pressure is 182390.
The exhaust_port temperature is 1052,and pressure is 323819.

At the same time, the outflow pressure is 2.728e6,I has found that it is wrong...
the right pressure should be 2.728e5...

Thank you very much.

Oh,my friends.
After I change the outflow pressure,The TKE also incrases to 1000+. The value of 2.728e5 is from Wave of Ricardo. Now I don't know how to solve the problem?
I need your help,Could you give me some suggestions?
Thank you,again!

Do you have fixed, constant pressures for Inflow and Outflow boundary?

Firstly,thank you for your replying.
The pressure of outflow and inlet are varied at the different time. They are from WAVE of ricardo.

Hello,

Quick clarification: Just before the intake valve opens, the cylinder pressure is 3.45 bar and the intake port pressure is 1.82 bar? I would expect that this would drive flow into the intake port.

Is there valve overlap?

Best regards,

Tristan
