Hi!
I`m simulating the air flow in a circular pipe but I only need the heat transfer in the radial direction. I would like to know if there are any way to plot the temperature and the heat flux vs radial direction or at at least in the x or y direction. Best regards, |

You can use the Query function in Ensight to plot the temperature along a line in any direction. You can use the Calculator in Ensight to build your own function to calculate local heat flux.
The boundary heat flux can be output to post files by selecting Boundary/Film-Bound-Boundary Heat Flux in Studio's Post Variable Selection window. Thanks. |

thanks..I was able to plot the temperature.
Now my proble it's with the geometry. I'm trying to import the object from solidworks but the file isn't imported with the same geometry reference and even trying to move the object with the translate option but there is always a little space which bothers for my simulation. Could you help with this problem? Best regards! |

CONVERGE Studio can do some basic CAD manipulations including scale, rotating, translating, etc. Can you explain more on the small gap problem? Thanks!

Hi! I have checked the geometry and the reference location many times but the error continues. Do you know which is the reason of this problem?
I have another question. I need to evaluate the influence of the roughness on the heat transfer in surfaces with a very low roughness. Is it necessary a mesh finer than the roughness? because according to the CONVERGE manual in the wall model the roughness is only a value in the equation and the software doesn't see the surface roughness fisically, is it? Best Regards |
