As CONVERGE offers compressible solver, can it be used to capture the shock wave in studying the phenomena, such as engine knock, detonation?

What will limit the confidence/accuracy in capturing shock wave in CONVERGE.

Recommendations on relevant papers using CONVERGE are welcomed.

Yes, CONVERGE can be used in shock wave capture and things like that. Actually, we have done a lot of supersonic/transonic cases. Remember to turn on the total energy solver for this type of simulations.

An example can be found here

S.D. Wijeyakulasuriya & S. Mitra, Analyzing Three-Dimensional Multiple Shock-Flame Interactions in a Constant-Volume Combustion Channel. Combustion Science and Technology, Volume 186, Issue 12, 2014

Hope it helps.
