Hello,

I have a query on tumble direction taken in converge output file --> dynamic_region0.out

Please check the attached image, i feel this image direction as positive tumble, but i am getting from dynamic_region0.out as negative value for the same behaviour.

is converge treating this direction as negative tumble??

can anyone clarify on this.

Thanks in advance.

Krishna

Hi Krishna,

the TumbleX, TumbleY and Swirl motions correspond to your x,y,z coordinate system (right thumb rule). If y is pointing out of the image, the tumble is negative, if its pointing into the image, tumble is positive.

Is this your coordinate system what i draw into the image?

Hi Tobias,

Thank you for your response.

my CS is same as image and the velocity vectors as in image but i am getting negative Y tumble.

as per right hand thumb rule, the image shows negative tumble. am i right?

Then its correct that your TumbleY is negative.
To avoid this, you could rotate your complete geometry.
