Comsol question

Hi,
I used Comsol to solve a PDE problem. I know that the solution is stored in the object fem.sol.u and the unstructured mesh points are stored in fem.mesh.p. If we assume fem.sol.u is a matrix of M*N (M is the number of spatial mesh points, and N is that for the time steps), then the fem.mesh.p should also have the dimension of M. Unfortunately, the mapping between index of p and u is not specified. Could anyone tell me how to do? Thanks. Windson |

You may never find how to do the mapping. One possible solution to your problem is to check if Comsol can export the solution in a different format, i.e., CGNS

Thank you for answering me. Could tell me explicitly about CGNS?
Actually, I don't understand why in using femtime as a solver the fem.sol object doesn't contain a list of mesh points, which correspond to the u value list. This will make life much easier ... |

You could search for CGNS on google. I do not know much about comsol, and I might not be able to assist you. I know that Ansys can export the results in this CGNS format. I thought that maybe comsol can do the same, or maybe comsol can export them in another but user-friendly format.
