StudentIB is on a distinguished road
Hi,

currently I am preparing for my master thesis about FEM simulations. I read various biomedical CFD project examples found in the Internet. I got interested by one particular project - COMSOL analysis of flow in blood vesel during injection. The problem is that I don't know how to recreate model used for this simulation. It was made in SolidWorks and it seems simple. However needle part must be created in such way that allows simulation of 2 different cases:
1) nothing is injected into blood vessel and we only analyze blood flow around obstacle (needle in vein)
2) new fluid (for example water) is injected into vein and we analyze flow of both interacting fluids

Here are pictures from aforementioned project showing model which I want to recreate:

As you can see there are 3 domains - blood, needle walls and needle content. Now the question is - how can I create such model (those 2 needle domains specifically) in SolidWorks or Inventor ? I tried revolved cut and boolean difference but that way I can't apply inlet boundary condition to upper needle surface (highlighted in the last picture).

Thanks in advance for your help
