Hi,
I am trying to do a full numerical model of a butanol based Condensation Particle Counter (CPC) using Comsol Multiphysics 5.2. Right now I am focusing on the optical particle counter (OPC) part. I am using the Ray optics module and the particle tracing module to try to reproduce the scattering of a laser on spherical butanol particles. So every time a particle is passing through the laser, it should scatter the light and this scattered light is measured and stored thanks to a photodetector. My problem is that I can't find a way to make the particles scatter the laser. Theyare just passing through as if they were invisible. I thought about assigning a refractive index to the particle but there is no such option in the particle tracing module for the particle properties. Any advice? Cedric |
